Shine Foundation - a charity that brings dreams to life for youth with disabilities - was planning a makeover for Scarlette, a 14-year old girl who was born blind. But that makeover revealed what the beauty industry wasn’t seeing - a lack of accessible products. So we created Scarlette’s Palette, the first tactile makeup palette designed specifically for the blind and low vision community. Launched on World Sight Day, the palette started a national conversation about the need for accessibility beauty products - and showed how design can both build and break barriers for people living with disabilities.
