SHINE
Shine Foundation - a charity that brings dreams to life for youth with disabilities - was planning a makeover for Scarlette, a 14-year old girl who was born blind. But her makeover revealed what the beauty industry wasn’t seeing - a lack of accessible products for blind and low vision users. So we created Scarlette’s Palette, the first tactile makeup palette designed specifically for Scarlette and her community. Launched on World Sight Day, the palette started a national conversation about the need for accessibility beauty products - and showed how design can both build and break barriers for people living with disabilities.
